At its core, my work explores the tension between observation and transformation, using the natural world as both subject and collaborator. I am drawn to native plant structures—grasses, seed heads, and wild growth—and the subtle systems they hold. Through co-owning a native plant business with my husband, this practice is embedded in the rhythms of our daily lives. In recent photographic work, I document and reframe these elements, allowing their fragility and complexity to emerge in new ways. Isolated against dark backgrounds, plant forms are suspended in a space that feels both intimate and otherworldly. Saturated hues—magenta, blue, and green—shift across surfaces, disrupting natural perception and inviting closer attention. Color becomes both a visual and emotional language. Process remains central to my practice. Working intuitively with light, I respond to each subject as it is encountered, allowing the image to develop through a balance of control and chance. Ultimately, my work aims to slow time and invite reflection on the layered relationships between place, memory, and perception.

After 20 years teaching art, I’ve returned fully to my studio practice. Rooted in drawing, I explore gesture and line as ways of seeing and knowing. Working in oil, I engage the material physically. Recurring horse forms reflect memory, movement, and an ongoing search for meaning.

My inspiration is two-fold. The first is technique based. Glass is a very technical medium. From the physical skill-set to the chemistry of working colors, this aspect of the medium fulfills my desire to learn, practice and master. The second is my passion to express myself through glass.
