Carl Gawboy, a Boise Forte Anishinaabe/Ojibwe, and Finnish artist and master storyteller, developed his own painting style with a commitment to honest depiction of everyday Ojibwe rituals of sugaring, ricing, canoeing, and harvesting.

He has been referred to as the “Ojibwe Norman Rockwell” because his paintings show the real lived experience and history of the Ojibwe people. Carl has created a vast amount of work over the years that includes watercolor, acrylic, and oil paintings, woodblocks, print, pencil and ink drawings, and illustrations.
